CAM’s customer, Sam Randazzo, beautiful Turbine Evolution N212SK made its first flight under beautiful blue skies. Sam, who resides in the Sydney Australia area, began construction of his Evolution in February of this year and features Evolution Aircraft Company’s (http://www.evolutionaircraft.com/) first Garmin G3X panel found in a Turbine Evolution. Sam and his wife Kelley were in attendance in Caldwell to be a part of the first-flight as well. The aircraft has a beautiful grey and off-white interior and is painted all white—a remarkable accomplishment in under 8 months time from it’s arrival at Cascade Aircraft Management.

Other key features of Sam’s beauty are a very light empty weight (less than 2500 lbs!), MT 4-blade propeller, Avidyne IFD550 NAV/COM/WAAS GPS, Earth-X lithium batteries, and much more. At the controls of the first-flight, Scotty Crandlemire reports back that the plane flies extremely well and does not anticipate any roadblocks to completing the Phase I flight testing period of 40 hours.

Sam plans to fly the aircraft back to Australia after the flight test period is completed so N212SK can join his Lancair IV which he built in the 90’s. The Randazzo’s are excited to return to Australia to show other aircraft owners the terrific flight characteristics and ease of operation that the Turbine Evolution is known for by the more than 75 Evolution’s flying.
